Jamie Lai

Jamie Lai is a California estate-planning attorney who helps families protect what they’ve built and take control of their legacy. Bilingual in Mandarin Chinese and with years of experience living and working in China, she brings cross-cultural fluency to clients with ties across Asia.

Before founding JL Estate Law Jamie spent years in media and entertainment, working with creatives and studios across the U.S. and Asia. That experience shaped her view that every family has a narrative worth preserving.  Estate planning is an opportunity for people to define their story and the legacy they leave behind.

Her practice focuses on revocable trusts, wills, powers of attorney, health-care directives, and cross-border asset planning, with a particular emphasis on first-generation and transnational families.

Jamie holds a B.A. in Philosophy from UC San Diego and a J.D. from the University of Iowa College of Law. She is based in Elk Grove, California.
